The Johnson County Fiscal Court met Monday evening.
Judge McKenzie opened the meeting with several announcements, including details of recent roadside trash pickup.
Johnson County Jailer Steve Rose works with inmates and community service workers to help keep Johnson County roadways clear of litter.
Rose was on-hand and also wanted to recognize Mark Reed and Eckle Meade for their assistance in the roadside trash cleanup program.
It was noted that (year to date) well over 5,000 bags of trash have been collected in Johnson County.
Johnson County District 1 Constable Tim Branham was also recognized at Monday’s Johnson County Fiscal Court Meeting.
Branham received the statewide 2024 “constable of the year” award and the 2024 training award.
Among several other agenda items, the fiscal court approved a grant agreement with the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development with regards to the planned expansion of the Country Music Highway Museum in Paintsville.
Judge McKenzie mentioned that the expansion would mean more space for more country star exhibits, and more space for meetings and conferences.
