Martin firefighters are back on the job with a new fire chief, Benjamin Meade, overseeing 26 members of the department.
WYMT reported that the previous chief and firefighters had concerns about necessary equipment not available and trucks running out of fuel.
Meade said he spoke with city officials and was told he would have what he needs to equip the department.
According to Floyd County Judge-Executive Robbie Williams, nearly $10,000 that was returned to the county when the former firefighters walked out is still being held by the county.
