Paintsville Man Facing Charges for False Murder Report

A Paintsville man is facing charges after falsely reporting a murder that never happened.

Police say 30-year-old Justin Morman called 911 and claimed someone had been killed, only to later admit he made the story up to get officers to respond faster.

Morman was found sitting on the steps of the Johnson County Courthouse and taken into custody.

He’s charged with falsely reporting an incident and was booked at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.
