Kentucky State Police are now investigating the death of an inmate at a prison in Morgan County earlier this week.
Officials previously reported that Marvin Knuckles fell and was fatally hurt while clearing snow and ice outside the Eastern Kentucky Correctional Complex on Tuesday morning.
The Kentucky Justice and Public Safety Cabinet says Knuckles was assigned to a minimum custody outside detail unit for his good behavior and he volunteered to work with other inmates to clear sidewalks and pavement before he was fatally hurt.
KSP is looking into whether all prison policies and procedures were followed prior to the accident.
