* Kentucky has added another first-round NBA Draft pick. Former Wildcat Jayden Quaintance was selected 20th overall by the San Antonio Spurs in the 2026 NBA Draft. The 6-foot-9 center joins a Spurs roster that includes former Kentucky standouts De’Aaron Fox and Keldon Johnson, along with All-Star Victor Wembanyama. Quaintance played just four games at Kentucky before a knee injury cut his season short, but impressed NBA scouts during his freshman year at Arizona State, where he averaged 9.4 points and 7.9 rebounds per game. He becomes the third Kentucky player drafted under head coach Mark Pope.
* Former Kentucky Wildcats men’s basketball guard Otega Oweh was selected by the Oklahoma City Thunder with the 41st overall pick in the second round of the 2026 NBA Draft after a trade from the Miami Heat. Oweh starred at Kentucky after transferring from Oklahoma, earning back-to-back All-SEC Second Team honors and setting a program record with 1,255 points in his first two seasons. He joins a Thunder roster that includes former Wildcats Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Cason Wallace. Oweh becomes the second Kentucky player drafted this year, following Jayden Quaintance, who was selected 20th overall by the San Antonio Spurs.
