The annual KHSAA Dead Period is now underway, running from June 25 through July 9. During the two-week break, student-athletes in Kentucky cannot receive coaching or training from school personnel in KHSAA-sanctioned sports. Schools are also prohibited from using athletic facilities, equipment, uniforms, transportation, or funds to support athletic activities. Coaches cannot communicate with athletes about team activities, and schools cannot sponsor camps, tournaments, or fundraising events involving student-athletes. The dead period is designed to provide a mandatory break from school-sponsored athletics before teams resume summer activities later in July.
