Allen Community Mourns the Loss of Firefighter Tony Grubb

The Allen community is mourning the loss of a valued local leader. Tony Grubb, a long-time member of the Allen Volunteer Fire Department Tax Board, passed away unexpectedly.

Grubb had just attended a department meeting the night before, making the news especially heartbreaking for his colleagues and friends. He dedicated many years of service to the fire department and to the people of Floyd County, earning deep respect for his commitment to keeping the community safe.

In addition to his work with the fire department, Tony recently retired as the longtime Conservation Director for the Floyd County Cooperative Extension Service, where he worked to protect and improve the county’s land and resources for future generations.

The Allen Volunteer Fire Department is asking the community to keep Tony’s family, friends, and loved ones in their thoughts during this difficult time, and to support one another as they remember a man who cared deeply for his community.

“Thank you, Tony, for your years of dedication, service, and support,” the department said. “Your contributions will never be forgotten.”
