KY 321 Bridge near Hager Hill Closed Following Inspection
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises the public of a closure of the KY 321 bridge near Hager Hill in Johnson County effective today. The bridge is located over the Levisa Fork of the Big Sandy River just north (Paintsville side) of the KY 1107 intersection.
A recent inspection by KYTC bridge specialists revealed concerns with the bridge’s substructure. Out of an abundance of caution, officials have made the decision to close the bridge to all traffic until further notice.
Barricades have been placed at each end of the bridge. All motorists must use an alternate route. Motorists can detour using nearby connecting routes until further notice.
KYTC appreciates the public’s patience as engineers assess the situation and determine necessary repairs to the bridge, which serves about 4,700 vehicles per day. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
