A three-vehicle traffic accident on Thursday morning in Pikeville has taken the life of 40-year-old Jessica Hopkins.
The Pikeville police reported that the accident occurred on Highway 23 as a truck was turning left onto Kelsey Friend Boulevard and collided with a car that had apparently run a red light.
The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation, but the weather could have played a factor.
