Retired Pike County School Superintendent Reed Atkins is one of six new board members at The Center for Rural Development.
The non-profit, founded nearly 30 years ago by Congressman Hal Rogers, is intended to help stimulate innovative and sustainable economic development in 45 counties in Southern and Eastern Kentucky.
It operates out a meeting and convention facility is Somerset.
