Game 1 – JCHS 7 – Elizabethton, TN 1
On Friday Night the Lady Eagles defeated Elizabethton, TN (7-1) in 5 innings. JCHS had 8 Hits in the game. Sr. Raelyn Adkins was 3/3 at the Plate with a Triple, 3 RBI’s and a Run Scored. Jr. Mayson Delong was 2/4 with Run Scored. Sr. Randi Delong was 1/2 with a Double and 2 Runs Scored. So. Josie Dials was 1/3 and Sr. Sophie Younce was 1/3 at the Plate. So. Carrigan Ratliff also had 1 RBI. Raelyn Adkins picked up the Win for the Lady Eagles. Going 5 full Innings, allowing 1 Earned Run on 2 Hits, Walking 3 and Striking Out 3 Cyclone Batters.
Game 2 – JCHS 21 – Morgan Co 0 (3 Innings)
On Saturday, Johnson Central had a Huge Day, both at the Plate and in the Pitching Circle to pick up the Convincing (21-0) Victory over Morgan Co. The Lady Eagles Bats were “Hott” from the start, led by 8th Grader Julie Dials, who went 4/4 on the Day with 2 Doubles, 4 RBI’s and 4 Runs Scored. Sr. Sophie Younce was 2/3 with and RBI and 3 Runs Scored. Fr. Mia Estep had a Double along with 2 RBI’s and 2 Runs Scored. Big Sister Jr. Jadyn Estep also delivered a Hit, with 4 RBI’s and 2 Runs. Jr. Lacey Smith, Sr. Randi DeLong, Sr. Ashlyn Patrick, Fr. Shelby Arnett all Collected 1 Hit in the Game. Randi DeLong, Lacey Smith and Ashlyn Patrick each had an RBI. Shelby Arnett and Jr. Zoie Hinkle each had 2 RBI’s. Hinkle would also pick up her First No Hitter on the Season. Going 3 innings of work, No Runs and No Hits Allowed, while Striking out 4 Hitters and allowing No Walks.
Game 3 – JCHS 15 – Morgan Co 0 (3 Innings)
JCHS defeated Morgan Co (for the second time) 15-0. Also for a second time, the Lady Eagles Pitching staff blanked the Lady Cougars on the Scoreboard and in the Hitting Dept. Earlier in the day, Zoie Hinkle pitched her first No Hitter. Not to be outdone, Sr. Abbie Stambaugh teamed up with Hinkle to Pitch another No Hitter. Stambaugh pitched 2 innings, allowing No Runs and No Hits, striking out 4 and No Walks. Hinkle pitched 1 inning, allowing No Runs and No Hits, while striking out 3 and no Walks.
In the Hitting Department, JCHS collected 8 Hits, led by Mia Estep wink went 2/2 including a Double along with 2 RBI’s, 2 Walks and 2 Runs Scored. Not to be outdone, big Sister Jadyn Estep was 2/3 at the Plate with 3 RBI’s and 3 Runs Scored. Lacey Smith, Shelby Arnett, Raelyn Adkins and Julie Dials each collected 1 Hit vs the Lady Cougars. Smith also had 2 RBI’s. Hinkle and Adkins each had 1 RBI.
Game 4 – JCHS 5 – Elizabethton. TN 3
In another rematch from Friday Night, Johnson Central faced off with the Elizabethton Cyclones from Tennessee. Unlike the previous game on Friday, the Lady Eagles would have to battle back from an earlier deficit to pick up this Victory. Johnson Central had their bats working early and often, totaling 11 Hits in the game. Jr. Addyson Burchett led all the Lady Eagle Hitters with 3 Hits, including a Home Run, while Jr. Mayson DeLong, Sr. Randi DeLong, Sr. Raelyn Adkins each collected 2 Hits and 8th Grader Julie Dials and Sr. Abbie Stambaugh each had 1 Hit. Randi DeLong produced 3 RBI’s and Addyson Burchett had 2 RBI’s. Burchett would also Score 3 times. Raelyn Adkins kept the Cyclones off balance at the Plate. Allowing 3 Runs (1 Earned) on 4 Hits in 7 innings of work. She Walked 3, but did not strike out a Batter.
Game 5 – JCHS 4 – East Carter 3 (Championship)
A In the Tournament Championship Game, it was a Battle of Area Powerhouse Teams. As JCHS faced off with the 16th Regions East Carter Lady Raiders, who came into the Game with an overall Record of 16-3 on the season. Once again the Lady Eagles got Great Pitching from Starter Abbie Stambaugh, who went 5 innings, allowed 3 Rins (1 Earned) on 6 Hits. Striking out 8 and Walking 1. Raelyn Adkins would relieve Stambaugh in the Circle, delivering 2 Strong Innings of work with No Runs allowed and only 1 Hit and Striking out 3 East Carter Batters and No Walks. The Lady Eagles were Powered by 9 Hits in the Game. The Big Blast was a 2 Run Home Run by So. Josie Dials in the Bottom of the 3rd Inning to put the Lady Eagles in front 4-2. A lead they never relinquished. DeLong Sister Mayson and Randi each had 2 Hits. Julie Dials, Sophie Younce and Addyson Burchett (along with Josie Dials HR) each collected a Hit in the Game. Johnson Central would hold on for the 4-3 Win and in doing so, Claim the 2024 Lindell Potter Memorial Tournament and improve their overall Record to 14-8.
Johnson Central finally returns Home on Monday in a District Matchup versus Martin Co at 5:30 PM. Congratulations to the Lady Eagles on a Great Weekend of Softball Action
