Kentucky State Police Pikeville Post received a call on April 20, 2024, at 11:39 p.m. reporting an UTV collision had occurred on State Highway 1056 in the Mccarr community of Pike County. Troopers from Post 9 responded and began the investigation.
The initial investigation indicated Dalton Mounts, 29 years old of Freeburn, was operating a Polaris Razor when the UTV exited the roadway and overturned. Michael Sincell, 28 years old of Freeburn, a passenger in the UTV was pronounced deceased on scene by the Pike County Coroner’s Office. The investigation is ongoing by KSP Accident Reconstructionist, Detective Joshua Scott.
Detective Scott was assisted on scene by Kentucky State Police Post 9 personnel and STAT Ambulance Service.
