Milling and paving to repair bridge ends
Lane closures are planned Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 14-15, to allow a contractor crew to repair settled bridge ends on the Bert T. Combs Mountain Parkway in Morgan County.
Beginning at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 14, the right eastbound lane will be closed between milepoints 59.0 and 63.14 (the Magoffin County line) to allow crews to mill and pave in the vicinity of bridges along this stretch. Around midday, the right lane will be reopened and the left lane will be closed.
The following day, the right westbound lane will be closed at 7:30 a.m. in this same area. After the work is completed on the right lane, the right lane will be reopened and the left lane will be closed.
Drivers should move to the appropriate lane in advance of the work zone, and reduce speed through the project area. Signage, message boards and flashing arrows will be in place to warn motorists of the lane closure.
In case of inclement weather or equipment issues, the work will be postponed until Thursday, Oct. 16.
