Nearly 200 Arrested in Statewide Drug Enforcement Effort

The Kentucky State Police have arrested nearly 200 people in a statewide drug enforcement effort called “Operation Summer Heat 2.0.”

Governor Andy Beshear said illegal drugs worth $640,000 have been taken off the street in the operation, including over 6,000 grams of meth, 3,000 grams of fentanyl, and over 1,000 grams of cocaine along with other drugs.

Police also recovered firearms and almost $200,000 in cash.

Thirty people from Pikeville Police Post region were arrested.

More arrests are expected.
