Paintsville Schools Advance STEAM Academy Plans

The Paintsville Independent School Board has approved a schematic design for the new STEAM Academy, which is planned for the former Family Federal Building on Main Street.

An architect told board members that the design is about 15 percent complete.

An updated schematic design will be presented in March, when the architect said he expects to be about 35 percent complete.

Additionally, Superintendent Bryan Auxier commended the district’s maintenance and custodial staff for getting school property cleared as much as possible during the recent winter storm.

Auxier stated he was proud that Paintsville was able to get back in session around a week before everyone else.
