The Pike County Ford Branch Landfill will be full in just three years, and the Fiscal Court is researching solutions.
A report on WYMT said the research began in 2019. Judge-Executive Ray Jones said, “The court is still deciding between expanding, creating a new landfill, or working with a neighboring landfill to take the solid waste out of the county.”
Jones said the goal is to find the best, most cost-effective solution for the county and its taxpayers, hoping to have a better idea of which route they are taking by the end of the year.
