Pikeville Man Arrested Following Domestic Dispute

Gerald Tacket, of Pikeville, has been arrested on numerous charges in a domestic dispute that turned violent.

WYMT reported that Tackett’s charges include domestic violence, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct.

A witness told police that a woman came to her apartment and said that her husband was drunk and had raised a loaded handgun at her.

After police reportedly knocked on the door, Tackett allegedly screamed through the door saying he would shoot the person that crossed the threshold.

That threat led police to have nearby apartments evacuated.

Officers were eventually able to deploy gas and enter the apartment.

The officers found Tackett hiding under a cover on the bed with a loaded handgun next to him.

After he was taken into custody, Tackett made threats of violence toward officers and EMS personnel.
