The following is a release from Prestonsburg Police Department:
Over the last several months, Prestonsburg Police Detectives have investigated a report made that Simon Roxas, 22, of Prestonsburg was in possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) following a complaint made by someone with close personal knowledge of the situation.
Following a dispute with Roxas after finding CSAM material on his mobile phone, the complainant immediately notified Prestonsburg Police Department of the complaint who then seized the phone for forensic analysis. As part of a partnership with Ashland Police Department , the phone was analyzed and found to have contained, recorded, received, or transmitted nearly 200 items of CSAM material and did belong, during the duration, to Simon Roxas.
Once forensic analyses were completed on the phone, information obtained was presented to Floyd County Commonwealth’s Attorney A. Brent Turner. A Floyd County Grand Jury subsequently returned an indictment both for possessing and distributing material portraying a sexual performance by a minor under the age of twelve.
Roxas was arrested and lodged in the Floyd County Jail. This case remains under investigation by Detective Dennis M. Hutchinson.
