Prosecutors are seeking another delay in the murder trial against the Floyd County man accused of killing Amber Spradlin in 2023.
The prosecution is citing ongoing delays with forensic DNA testing.
The trial is currently scheduled to bein next month, but it appears that many not happen.
Three men, Michael McKinney the Third, his father Michael McKinney the Second, and Joshua Mullins are supposed to be in court today for a court-ordered mediation that could result in plea deals.
Spradlin’s family told the Lexington Herald Leader that they are willing to settle for a plea deal only if the prison sentence is 50 years without the possibility of parole for the younger McKinney.
