Public Meeting Held To Discuss Proposed Rate Increase For Kentucky Power

Customers of Kentucky Power are weighing in on a potential rate increase from the electricity provider.

The Kentucky Public Service Commission held the first of three planned public meetings to discuss the hike in Pikeville yesterday.

Operators of the utility are asking for approval to increase the average rate by over 14 percent for residential subscribers.

Additional meetings are scheduled for December 18th at the Perry County Courthouse and on January 8th at the Ashland Transportation Center.
