Electric Bills for customers of the Big Sandy RECC are going up.
The Kentucky Public Service Commission has approved a rate increase that will add about $18 a month to an average bill.
That’s slightly less than what the utility had asked for.
The RECC applied for an increase last fall–its first since 2018.
Big Sandy already implemented the new rates they’d asked for in May, so his next bills will show a small credit for the overcharges since then.
Big Sandy RECC has about 12,000 customers across several eastern Kentucky counties.
