Reds Continue Free Fall

* The Cincinnati Reds were swept by the St. Louis Cardinals over the weekend, falling 5-3 Sunday at Busch Stadium. Matt McLain continued his hot streak with two solo home runs, but also committed a costly eighth-inning error as the Cardinals scored twice to break a 3-3 tie. Rhett Lowder returned from the injured list and tossed three scoreless innings despite walking five batters. The loss drops Cincinnati to 31-and-33 on the season and 2-and-13 against NL Central opponents. The Reds have now lost four straight and head to San Diego looking to snap the skid.
