A man from New York state is in jail in Pikeville.
Police reported that Constantin Lacatus is accused of pulling short-change scams at Walmart locations along the east coast.
The scam reportedly netted Lacatus as much as $100,000.
He was arrested when he tried to pull the scam in Pikeville where it is alleged that he tried to get $2,500 placed on his card.
Walmart said Lacatus is suspected of pulling the scam at 61 stores in the eastern United States.
