A springtime burn ban is now in effect across Kentucky.
The restrictions are meant to prevent wildfires, running now through the end of April.
Open burning within 150 feet of woodlands or brushland is illegal between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m., unless the ground is snow-covered.
Counties can also set stricter rules during particularly dry periods.
