The following is a release from Floyd County Schools:
On Monday, October 7, 2024, an incident occurred at Duff-Allen Central Elementary involving a staff member. An aide at the school, was reported by colleagues for suspected intoxication during school hours.
The Floyd County Sheriff’s Department was contacted and an investigation was started. The aide was subsequently arrested and charged with alcohol intoxication.
Floyd County Schools takes this matter very seriously and is committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for our students and staff. We are cooperating fully with local authorities and will follow our district protocols regarding employee conduct.
