Two candidates who initially filed to run for seats in Magoffin County – will not appear on the ballot after all.
Magoffin County Clerk Renee Shepherd announced that District 3 Magistrate Sam Bailey Junior request his name be removed from the Democrat District 3 contest.
Additionally, Timmy Salyer has also removed his name from the Republican ticket in the coroner’s race.
Shepherd says it is too late to remove their names from the primary ballot, so any votes cast for Sam Bailey Junior or Timmy Salyer will not be counted.
Bailey, meanwhile said that he has accepted a new position as superintendent on a data center project.
