KENTUCKY (WSIP) – Utility customers across eastern Kentucky are still dealing with widespread outages this afternoon.
Tuesday’s storms left thousands without power, while downing trees and causing widespread damage. Over 11,600 utility customers are without service this afternoon in Carter, Floyd, Johnson, Knott, Lawrence, Letcher, Magoffin, Martin, Perry and Pike counties, with most of those outages in Knott, Letcher and Perry counties.
Winds up to 80 mph were reported, prompting tornado sirens in Pikeville.
No fatalities were reported, only property and road damage.
