Pikeville City Commission continues to explore data center development

PIKEVILLE, Ky. (WSIP) – The Pikeville City Commission continues to explore the possibilities of data center projects.

This week, the commission approved an extension of its memorandum of understanding with MD Squared Power LLC regarding the development of a data center at the Kentucky Enterprise Industrial Park. The first memorandum was agreed upon on April 20 and was good for 120 days. 

The memorandum allows the city and company to continue negotiations while both parties determine if a final agreement can be reached.

Officials say no land transactions have taken place.
