Martin County GED instructor accused of smuggling drugs into detention center

GREENUP COUNTY, Ky. (WSIP) – A Martin County GED instructor at the Greenup County Detention Center is facing felony charges after authorities say she smuggled drugs to inmates inside a Mother’s Day card.

Crystal Hazlett, 46, of Inez was arrested after security video showed Hazlett giving an inmate a pink card, which contained Suboxone strips.

Hazlet is charged with first-degree promoting contraband and second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.
