* Kentucky basketball has landed a major recruiting victory as five-star wing prospect Ryan Hampton has committed to the Wildcats following his visit to Lexington. Hampton, the No. 6 overall player in the 2027 class, chose Kentucky over several top programs, including Auburn Tigers men’s basketball, NC State Wolfpack men’s basketball, Nebraska and LSU. The Texas native has impressed on the Nike EYBL circuit, averaging more than 22 points per game this season. Hampton becomes Kentucky’s first commitment in the 2027 class and the highest-rated recruit of head coach Mark Pope’s head coaching career.
