Pikeville Man Receives 20-Year Sentence in Mother’s Death

PIKE COUNTY, Ky. (WSIP/WXKQ) – A Pike County man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to the shooting death of his mother.

Sixty-year-old Alex Yuhas of Pikeville pled guilty to capital murder and two counts of terroristic threatening.

The charges stem from a 2024 incident on Old Wagner Station Road, where Kentucky State Police responded to a 911 call reporting a domestic disturbance.

Troopers later found Paulette Mullins dead from a gunshot wound.
