One person is dead and another is in critical condition following a two-vehicle crash Thursday morning in Lawrence County.
Kentucky State Police say the collision happened around 7:35 a.m. on U.S. 23 in Lowmansville, when a southbound Kia Sorento driven by 22-year-old Johnathan Haney, of Staffordsville, crossed the median into the northbound lanes and struck a semi tractor-trailer.
Police say 20-year-old Kaitlyn Delong of Lovely was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
Haney was transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation.
