Westbound Traffic Shift Begins on Mountain Parkway in Wolfe County

Motorists traveling westbound on the Mountain Parkway through Wolfe County should expect a new traffic pattern beginning today.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says westbound traffic will shift near the Helechewa exit at mile marker 57 and remain in the new pattern through the construction zone to mile marker 45 near Campton until further notice.

The change is expected to primarily affect westbound drivers. Eastbound traffic will see little impact until paving work begins, when one eastbound lane will be closed.

Drivers are urged to slow down, stay alert and use caution while traveling through the approximately 12-mile work zone. Officials say construction schedules could change because of weather or other unforeseen conditions.
