Kentucky Senator Mitch McConnell is releasing a statement following rumors of serious health issues surrounding the 84-year-old.
The office of McConnell released a photo of the senator smiling in a hospital chair, saying he went to the hospital for a fall last month and was then diagnosed with pneumonia.
It went on to say he didn’t break any bones or suffer a concussion, along with no evidence of a heart attack or stroke.
He added in the statement on advice from doctors, he won’t be able to return to the Senate floor to vote just yet, but is not taking a break from the Senate business, working closely with his legislative staff on current issues.
