Auxier Man Indicted on Federal Charge for Allegedly Threatening Judge

An Auxier man who allegedly yelled profanities and insults at a judge in a court hearing last fall has been indicted for that incident.

Jonathan Howell was arrested in August for allegedly threatening a postal worker and then further threatening that postal worker as a witness when Howell went to court.

At a series of hearings in September Howell allegedly went on extended rants that resulted in contempt charges.

Mountain Top News reports a grand jury has now indicted him for a federal charge related to threatening the judge, and for being an alleged persistent felony offender.

Howell is being held in the Floyd County jail.
