Christian Appalachian Project’s Operation Sharing Program Brings Christmas to Eastern Kentucky

Christian Appalachian Project’s Operation Sharing received approximately 75 semi tractor loads of toys for all ages.

CAP is working to coordinate with Family Resource Coordinators in all 54 distressed Appalachian counties in Eastern Kentucky, as well as 4 distressed Appalachian counties in Tennessee to distribute roughly 2.8 million toys.

The goal is to provide all children in those counties with toys in partnership with local school districts.

CAP’s Operation Sharing program coordinated a similar effort over the summer in several counties in Kentucky as well as locations in Arkansas and West Virginia.

Each child received toys with an estimated value of $150. CAP will be onsite on Dec. 12 at schools in Lee County and Letcher County as well.

The CEO of Christian Appalachian Project will be on hand to assist with the Operation Sharing distribution.
