Blood Drive in Paintsville Aims to Replenish Local Hospital Supply

The Kentucky Blood Center is asking Paintsville-area residents to roll up a sleeve and help replenish the local blood supply. A blood drive is scheduled for Wednesday, September 2nd, from noon until 5 p.m. at the Kentucky Blood Center bloodmobile at Walmart, 470 North Mayo Trail in Paintsville. A 14-year-old Paintsville musician is bringing national attention to Eastern Kentucky after taking home a top honor at the 2026 Hollywood Independent Music Awards. Animal Alliance of East Kentucky Receives $500 Petco Love Grant

The Animal Alliance of East Kentucky is set to receive a $500 grant from national nonprofit Petco Love to support the organization's efforts to provide affordable veterinary care and spay and neuter services across Eastern Kentucky. The 41st Annual Van Lear Town Celebration is underway on July 31st and August 1st, 2026. Numerous events are planned both days including great food, live music and entertainment, and more.
