A Johnson County man has been indicted on federal drug and firearms charges.
Prosecutors say a federal grand jury has charged Brian Charles, also known as “Butterbean,” with possessing more than 500 grams of methamphetamine and fentanyl with the intent to distribute.
The indictment also accuses Charles of possessing firearms in connection with drug trafficking and being a convicted felon in possession of firearms.
Prosecutors are seeking forfeiture of nine firearms, ammunition, and nearly 24-thousand dollars in cash seized during the investigation.
An indictment is only an allegation, and Charles is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
