Kentucky State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement officers are joining law enforcement agencies nationwide for Operation Safe Driver Week, running through July 18th. The annual campaign focuses on reducing crashes by targeting unsafe driving behaviors among commercial vehicle operators and educating all motorists about roadway safety.
KSP says officers will be watching for violations including speeding, distracted driving, improper lane changes and failure to wear seat belts. Officials remind drivers to slow down, give large trucks plenty of room, buckle up and report unsafe drivers to law enforcement.
Officer Steven Douglas with KSP Commercial Vehicle Enforcement says road safety is everyone’s responsibility, and the week provides an opportunity for officers to promote safe driving while educating motorists across the state.
