Oregon Man Arrested in Floyd County on Sexual Abuse Charge

FLOYD COUNTY, Ky. (WSIP) – A 19-year-old Oregon man has been arrested following a Prestonsburg Police investigation into the alleged sexual abuse of a 16-year-old.

Police say Jesse Gent, of Sherwood, Oregon, is charged with third-degree sodomy after investigators determined he was in a position of trust or authority over the alleged victim.

Authorities say Gent left Kentucky after the investigation began but was arrested upon returning to the Commonwealth.

He is being held in the Floyd County Detention Center while the investigation continues.
