The Pikeville Police Department hosted its first “Coffee with a Cop” on Wednesday.
This is a chance for community members to sit and sip with the folks who protect and serve the city.
WYMT reports the police department saw a revolving door of community members sharing their thoughts and thanks with the officers.
The event was held on the sixth anniversary of fallen officer Scotty Hamilton’s death, which was a decision by the department to honor the hero who died serving his community.
A balloon launch was held in Hamilton’s memory.
