Statewide Crime Declines in Kentucky During 2025

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WSIP) – Crime across Kentucky declined in 2025, according to the annual Crime in Kentucky report released by the Kentucky State Police. Governor Andy Beshear said serious crime fell by more than 8 percent statewide, with decreases reported in drug offenses, homicides, assaults and robberies.

Among counties in the Big Sandy and eastern Kentucky region, Floyd County recorded the highest arrest total with 2,925 arrests. Pike County followed with 2,666 arrests, while Lawrence County reported 1,427 arrests and Johnson County recorded 1,302 arrests. Martin County reported 795 arrests.

Drug-related offenses and assault offenses continued to account for a significant share of arrests statewide as law enforcement agencies across the Commonwealth reported more than 8,000 serious Group-A offenses and arrests during the year.
