JOHNSON COUNTY, Ky. (WSIP) – Two men were arrested Sunday after Kentucky State Police say they led troopers on a 15-mile pursuit through Johnson County in a pickup truck carrying suspected stolen AT&T communication line.
A traffic stop was attempted on U.S. 23 in Paintsville after troopers spotted a truck without a visible registration plate and with excessive window tint. The pursuit ended on KY-825 when troopers used a Precision Immobilization Technique to stop the vehicle.
Thirty-eight-year-old Christopher Mollette of Tomahawk was charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police, DUI, receiving stolen property and several other offenses. Passenger William Cantrell, 41, of Flat Gap, was charged with receiving stolen property, possession of burglary tools and criminal littering.
Both were lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.
