The 12th Annual Van Lear Chili Cook-off was held on Saturday at the Van Lear Coal Miners Museum.
Dozens of people gathered for the event and eleven made chili for the competition.
There were two categories: regular chili and wild game (elk, deer, etc.)
Congratulations to the winners in each category:
In the wild game category, first place prize went to Angie Burton, and second place to Mike Daniels.
In the regular chili category, Leroy Young took third place, Marietta Music was second, and Becky Young’s chili made first place.
All proceeds from the event benefit the Van Lear Historical Society.
