A 14-year-old Paintsville musician is bringing national attention to Eastern Kentucky after taking home a top honor at the 2026 Hollywood Independent Music Awards.

Adalyn Ramey was named the winner of the Bluegrass Song of the Year award for her song “Angel at the Crossroads.” The award was presented July 30 at the Avalon Hollywood in Los Angeles. The Hollywood Independent Music Awards’ official winners list confirms Ramey as the Bluegrass winner.

Ramey shared the news on social media following the awards ceremony, celebrating the win and recognizing the team behind the recording.

“Angel at the Crossroads” was produced by Jonathan Goodwin and written by Brian James and Kaci Bolls. The recording features musicians Mark Fain, Steve Thomas, Kenny Smith, Eric Darken and Goodwin.

The song was released through Dreamland Entertainment in Nashville, the label Ramey signed with at age 11. According to Bluegrass Today, Ramey began performing publicly at age 5 and has earned nearly 40 awards and nominations from independent music organizations over the past three years.

The Hollywood honor adds to a growing list of accomplishments for the young Paintsville artist. Ramey’s music has received radio airplay and recognition from bluegrass and gospel music organizations, according to information released about the award.

Ramey’s success has also drawn attention from the bluegrass music community. Bluegrass Today reported that she was honored for Bluegrass Song of the Year at the Hollywood Independent Music Awards after “Angel at the Crossroads” was recorded earlier this year.

For Ramey, the award represents another milestone in a musical journey that began at a young age and continues to put her Eastern Kentucky roots in the spotlight.
