Man Behind Bars Following Amber Alert

The father of a Kentucky girl at the center of an AMBER Alert is now behind bars. Bradley Price allegedly abducted his ten-year-old daughter from Lawrenceburg. Authorities say he failed to show up for a family court date because he knew his parental rights had been suspended. He was arrested Tuesday night. The girl was not hurt.

Johnson County Man Arrested Following Shooting

A Johnson County man was arrested for allegedly shooting his son last Friday.  Fox 56 is reporting that the Kentucky State Police went to the home on Highway 1559 about 8 p.m. Friday night.  Police report that 61-year-old Timothy Rivers was spotted through a window of the home. When police entered the home, they found Rivers smoking a marijuana pipe with a rifle in front of him.  Rivers allegedly told police that his son came into the room yelling, and he […]

Martin County House Fire Kills Two Children

A deadly house fire has claimed the lives of two children in Martin County. Fire crews were called to a home on Tug River Road around 8:00 this morning and arrived to find the structure engulfed in flames. An adult and three children lived in the home. The adult and one child survived and were treated at the scene. The cause is under investigation.

Woman Facing Charges Following Floyd County Shooting

A woman is facing charges after a shooting that wounded a man on Wednesday. The shooting occurred in the Blue River area Wednesday evening, and the wounded man was airlifted to a hospital for treatment of his wounds.  The name of the woman and her alleged victim have not been released.

Study Looks Into Possibility of New Four-Year College in East Kentucky

A possible four-year university is being studied and that study said that Hazard would be the best possible location because of its central location in Eastern Kentucky.   The study also looked into options like a regional campus of either Eastern Kentucky University (EKU) or Morehead State University (MSU). These were essentially ruled out because it has been done in Manchester for EKU and Prestonsburg for MSU.
