Kentucky State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement officers are joining law enforcement agencies nationwide for Operation Safe Driver Week, running through July 18th. Former Elliott County Ambulance Director Indicted on Six Felony Charges

A former Elliott County Ambulance Service director is facing six felony charges following an investigation by the Kentucky Attorney General's Office. A grand jury indicted 40-year-old Michael Burling on charges including abuse of public trust, theft by deception, theft by unlawful taking, tampering with public records and possession of a forged instrument. Investigators allege the crimes occurred between 2018 and 2024 while Burling served as ambulance service director, accusing him of fraudulently using employer funds and falsifying records. Adkins Leaves Beshear Administration, Expected to Launch Governor Bid

Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear's senior advisor, Rocky Adkins, has stepped down after serving his last day on July 10. Beshear thanked the former House leader for helping guide Kentucky through the COVID-19 pandemic, multiple natural disasters and years of economic growth. Adkins joined the administration in 2019 after representing Rowan, Elliott and Lewis counties in the Kentucky House for more than 30 years. Former Floyd County Sheriff John K. Blackburn Dies

The Floyd County Sheriff's Office has announced the passing of former Sheriff John K. Blackburn.  Blackburn was first elected in 1997 and served as Floyd County Sheriff from 1998 through 2014. In a social media post, the Sheriff's Office asked the community to keep Blackburn's family in their thoughts and prayers and said funeral arrangements will be announced when they become available.

Mitch McConnell Releases Statement Amid Health Concerns

Kentucky Senator Mitch McConnell is releasing a statement following rumors of serious health issues surrounding the 84-year-old.  The office of McConnell released a photo of the senator smiling in a hospital chair, saying he went to the hospital for a fall last month and was then diagnosed with pneumonia.  It went on to say he didn't break any bones or suffer a concussion, along with no evidence of a heart attack or stroke.  He added in the statement on advice […]

Kentucky Attorney General Russell Coleman is joining a 48-state bipartisan coalition urging the Federal Communications Commission to tighten rules aimed at stopping robocall and text scams. The attorneys general want stronger requirements for companies that buy and resell phone numbers, saying scammers continue to exploit legitimate numbers to deceive consumers.
