JOHNSON COUNTY, Ky. (WSIP) – Two men were arrested Sunday after Kentucky State Police say they led troopers on a 15-mile pursuit through Johnson County in a pickup truck carrying suspected stolen AT&T communication line. A traffic stop was attempted on U.S. 23 in Paintsville after troopers spotted a truck without a visible registration plate and with excessive window tint. Oregon Man Arrested in Floyd County on Sexual Abuse Charge

FLOYD COUNTY, Ky. (WSIP) – A 19-year-old Oregon man has been arrested following a Prestonsburg Police investigation into the alleged sexual abuse of a 16-year-old. Police say Jesse Gent, of Sherwood, Oregon, is charged with third-degree sodomy after investigators determined he was in a position of trust or authority over the alleged victim. Man Pleads Guilty to BUI Following Fatal Grayson Lake Incident

CARTER COUNTY, Ky. (WSIP) – A Boyd County man charged with boating under the influence after a fatal incident at Grayson Lake has pleaded guilty. 23-year-old Cameron Conley admitted to operating a boat while intoxicated after 19-year-old Marly Kinney was reported missing on June 24. Kentucky Ranks Fifth Lowest in U.S. for Kindergarten Vaccination Rates

Floyd, Magoffin Counties Awarded $1.8 Million for Industrial Development

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WSIP) – Floyd and Magoffin counties will receive nearly $1.8 million in state funding to support future industrial development projects. Governor Andy Beshear announced Floyd County will receive $1.3 million to help acquire the 40-acre Allen Rail Site near Allen, while Magoffin County will receive more than $513,000 to expand Gifford Industrial Park outside Salyersville. The funding comes through the Kentucky Product Development Initiative, which helps communities prepare industrial sites to attract new business investment and create jobs.
