INEZ, Ky. (WSIP) – The Appalachian Artist Festival returns to downtown Inez Friday and Saturday with two days of free music, art, food and family activities. Property Line Dispute Ends in Assault Charge for Pike County Man

A Pike County man is facing an assault charge after Kentucky State Police say a property dispute between neighbors turned violent Sunday night in the Belfry area. Troopers say 28-year-old Robert Lee Blankenship Jr., of Belfry, allegedly struck Ethan Marcum with a vehicle during an argument over a property line on North Big Creek Road. Johnson County Man Indicted On Federal Drug And Firearms Charges

A Johnson County man has been indicted on federal drug and firearms charges. Prosecutors say a federal grand jury has charged Brian Charles, also known as “Butterbean,” with possessing more than 500 grams of methamphetamine and fentanyl with the intent to distribute. The indictment also accuses Charles of possessing firearms in connection with drug trafficking and being a convicted felon in possession of firearms. Investigation Continues Into Death Of Ashland Woman Found In Grayson Lake

Kentucky Fish and Wildlife investigators are continuing their investigation into the death of 19-year-old Marly Kinney of Ashland. Kinney was reported missing June 24 after she did not return from a pontoon boat outing at Grayson Lake. Her body was recovered from the lake five days later. Investigators say they are working with the Carter County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office to review evidence and pursue leads. (WSIP) – A Johnson County man has been arrested on charges involving alleged online contact with a teenage girl. 35-year-old Donald Wayne Meek of Thelma is accused of using a chat app between July 16 and July 18 to encourage a girl he allegedly knew was underage to drink alcohol, send him pictures and go for a ride. LONDON, Ky. (WSIP) – A Pike County woman sentenced to 45 years in federal prison for producing child sexual abuse material is appealing her sentence. Pamela Denise Sargent, 45, of Kimper, pleaded guilty in March to two counts of producing child pornography. Prosecutors said she admitted to creating explicit videos involving toddler-aged children. Floyd County Cracking Down on Illegal Dumping

FLOYD COUNTY, Ky. (WSIP) – Floyd County officials are reminding residents that illegal dumping remains a problem and say enforcement efforts are continuing. A recent illegal dump site was discovered along Allen Banner Road, and officials say cameras are actively monitoring known dumping locations. Anyone caught illegally disposing of trash could face prosecution. County residents can dispose of household waste free once each month on a Monday or Friday at the Rumpke/Floyd County Transfer Station in Martin.
